In a health care setting with hazardous materials, doing tasks properly and ensuring total safety from start to finish is critical. This is especially important as the project scope grows – and for this one, we were tasked to abate 75,000 sq. ft. of drywall, 14,000 sq. ft. of exterior stucco, 8,000 sq. ft. of roofing materials, and thousands of square feet of additional materials.

With a crew of 20, we made a plan to safely and thoroughly complete this job in 6 weeks. We utilized an engineered scaffold and shrink wrapping to create an exterior containment, preventing unwanted materials from escaping into the outside environment. The project was a success, with zero incidents on site and full compliance with our own exceptional standards as well as those of provincial COVID regulations.

Thanks to our high attention to detail and commitment to safe processes, we were called back afterward to remove approximately 1,000 lineal feet of transite pipe that had been discovered buried in the ground during excavation. This project was also successful, with minimal disruption to the surroundings and total client confidence in the end result.
